Join an International Movement: 16 Days of Activism

The 16 Days of Activism to Eliminate Violence Against Women (EVAW) is an annual international campaign calling for the elimination of violence against women and girls. The “Wired for Change: Tech’s Impact on Gender-Based Abuse” campaign runs from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day). Represent SI at Upcoming CSW68

Members who are interested in attending the 68th session on the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), are invited to complete an interest survey by November 27. Please note: limited delegate spots are available to SIA members.

CSW will take place March 11-24, 2024. Reminder that all expenses for travel, hotel accommodations and other activities are at the expense of the delegate. For follow up questions concerning the process, please contact Wanda Price atwprice4121@aol.com.

New! Live Your Dream Awards Reference Update

Did you know that the Live Your Dream Awards application only requires ONE reference now? The second one is encouraged but optional! This change was made after surveying region chairs who agreed that one reference could still be sufficient for application judging, while also making the process smoother for the applicants. Be sure to use the updated application!

As technology continues to evolve, it both makes our lives easier and adds new challenges. If you suspect a Live Your Dream Awards essay may have been generated by artificial intelligence, look for the following signs

  • Congratulations to clubs celebrating a milestone anniversary during the month of November! 

  • All Soroptimist clubs holding any 501(c)(3) federal tax status are required to file annually with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) a version of Form 990. Read the blog for more information and resources!

  • Did you know archived issues of Best for Women are available on our blog? Check it out! You can also access this section when you click “Best for Women” at the top of the blog.

  • The Simply Voting electronic ballot platform for SIA Board of Directors is now open in the following Electoral Areas and regions. The ballot system closes on January 4.
