Who is the Best in Federation?

We’ve recently recognized clubs across the federation for meeting one or more of the 2022-2023 Club Roadmap Metrics. Those clubs who achieved 100% of the metrics are now eligible to apply for the Best in Federation Club Award (formerly the Soroptimist Celebrating Success Awards). The application period closes September 30 and we are looking forward to hearing from the best of the best!

Following the launch of a federation-wide call for volunteers, SIA is pleased to announce the appointed 48th Biennial Convention Chair and Co-Chair. Meet Theresa Heidt-Vanderschoot, convention chair, and Karen Hall, convention co-chair.

Live Your Dream Awards Application Portal Reminder

The online application portal for women to apply for the award opened August 1. Your club’s participation in this program makes a HUGE difference in the lives of women and their families.

Make Sure to Sign the Confidentiality Agreement!

North American Live Your Dream Awards Club Chairs should check their email for portal login information to sign the confidentiality agreement. Need help? Check out our playlist of videos for club chairs and one for applicants! Did you receive that email but you are NOT the club chair? Let your club president know to update the online roster!

In Memoriam

SIA sadly reports the passing of Joan Cromer, 1995-1996 SIA President, who went on to serve as 2003-2005 Soroptimist International President. Joan was a member of SI/Scotts Bluff County, NE (Peaks to Plains Region, formerly Rocky Mountain Region), since 1974. She was also the matriarch of three generations of Soroptimist members and leaders, including her daughter, Karen Cromer Johnson, a former North Central Region Governor and SIA Board member, and granddaughter Joanne Johnson, both current members of SI/Twin Cities, MN (Peaks to Plains Region, formerly North Central Region). Understanding Soroptimist Club Insurance

Did you know that insurance and risk management are keys to ensuring that Soroptimist is not caught off guard by unforeseen events or oversights? Join us October 4 at 1:00 p.m. or October 5 at 7:00 p.m. for a live question and answer session and updated training on insurance and risk management.

Congratulations to clubs celebrating a milestone anniversary during the month of September!
Nominations for fundraising council and board of directors positions must be returned to headquarters on or before September 15. Emails with nomination forms and job descriptions were sent to club email addresses in July. Learn more.
Soroptimist International Foundation has received a donation from SIA Taiwan Region which is specifically for the education of women and girls from/in war torn countries. Regions, countries and clubs are invited to submit projects for funding. Learn more.
