Bylaws Amendments Voting Opens October 9
Member clubs of Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc. (SIA) that are in good standing are eligible to vote electronically on three proposed amendments to the SIA Bylaws.
Electronic Voting
Voting opens Friday, October 9, and closes at 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, December 10.
On Friday, October 9, clubs in good standing will receive an email with a unique, personalized voting link sent to their @soroptimist.net club email address. The email will come from "vote@ simplyvoting.com".
Your club’s voting link is unique to your club and cannot be transferred or used by another club. It provides access to the voting portal and ensures that each club can submit only one ballot.
How the Bylaws Amendments Will Be Approved
Under Article XII, Amendments, Section 12.03(a) of the SIA Bylaws:
Each club in good standing receives a ballot and has 60 days from the date the ballot is mailed to vote.
An amendment requires a two-thirds vote of the ballots returned and voting on that proposal to be approved.
If an amendment is not approved, the current bylaw will remain in effect.
Review and Discuss the Proposals
Delegates considered all three proposed amendments at convention. Please review the proposals on the Nominations and Elections page of the SIA website. The proposals were not amended by the delegates. Delegate recommendations regarding adoption are included with each proposal.
Please have your club review and discuss each proposal before casting the club's vote. Please make sure your club submits its ballot before the December 10 deadline. Thank you for participating in this important SIA governance process.
