Take Action…To Boost or Not to Boost!

Boosted posts are Facebook ads you create from existing posts on your Facebook page. They appear as a regular post but with an added boost or promotion. They may include text, images, videos, or a combination of these elements, depending on the content you want to promote.

Check out the following tips to decide if investing in boosts is the right action for your club.

LIMITATIONS:

Limited reach: Without a substantial marketing budget, the reach of your posts may be limited.

Potential lack of control: The algorithms determine how and to whom your posts are shown, which may not always align perfectly with your target audience or goals.

Ad fatigue: Your audience may become disinterested in your content if you continuously boost the same posts without variation.

Measurement challenges: Facebook's organic reach is already declining and boosted posts may not provide detailed analytics or insights into your audience's behavior, making it challenging to measure success or impact.

BENEFITS:

Cost-effective: Allows you to reach a wider audience without significant financial investment.

Targeted reach: Targeted options such as demographics, interests, and behaviors can help you reach a specific audience that is more likely to be interested in your club.

Increased visibility: Can increase your club’s visibility, making it more likely your content will be seen by users who may not have otherwise come across it.

Engagement and interaction: Increased visibility can lead to increased engagement, conversations and interactions with your target audience, helping to build relationships and generate buzz.

Questions to Consider

After weighing the benefits and limitations, ask your club the following questions:

  • Does the post have a purpose?

  • Does the post have a clear call-to-action?

  • Does the post link to a solid landing page or website?

  • Is the post designed to generate sales, event attendance or leads?

If you can answer YES to any of those questions, then your post may be worth boosting! Otherwise, you can organically boost your posts just by posting regularly, responding to comments on your page, posting more stories and reels, and engaging with your audience on their pages.
