SIA and SI to Host Parallel Events During CSW67

During this year’s 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) taking place March 6-17 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, both SIA and SI will host virtual parallel events that invite all members and guests to learn about successful projects that present the opportunities, achievements, and challenges to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. The parallel events are one of the key components of the NGO CSW Forum.

SIA Parallel Event

Date/Time: March 15 at 7:00 p.m. (ET)

Session Title: A Century of Innovation for Increased Access to Education for Women and Girls

Description: Despite being an organization that is over a century old, SIA has shown itself to be capable of adapting and changing. Come learn how SIA members have kept our commitment to investing in education and economic empowerment for women and girls since our founding to today, responding to local needs in our communities through our Dream Programs and other projects while utilizing technology. Attendees will learn about our impact and leave with best practices for adapting to local community needs.

Attendees must register in advance for this event.

SI/SI Federations Parallel Event

For rural women and girls, education is a game changer, as they continue to face discrimination, inequalities and marginalization. Hear how the implementation of economic and social policies empower their leadership, participation and decision making. Soroptimist projects across the world build the resilience and capacity building of rural women and girls to enable them to reach social and economic independence. SIA President Stephanie Smith will represent SIA during this session.

Attendees must register in advance for this event.
