Story Spotlight

The Legacy of SI/Washington D.C.

On December 5, 1922, SI/Washington, D.C., celebrated its charter, becoming the first club on the east coast of the United States. Ruby Lee Minar, who was a real estate agent and emerging real estate developer in the Virginia suburbs across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., served as the club’s first president.

As your club makes your final decisions about the Live Your Dream Awards, be sure that you follow the updated reporting process by reporting your club’s participation online through the online reporting form. The questions are virtually unchanged from the transmittal of the past, but we have created a step-by-step video and handout to help you navigate the new form. Questions?
