Member and Leader Code of Conduct Updates

SIA’s staff has been working alongside the Board of Directors to develop and launch our first Member and Leader Code of Conduct. This process was spurred by seeing feedback from lapsed member surveys that a lack of civility at the local level was causing members to leave the organization. This Code, which is founded in our shared values and expectations, supports a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for all members, and is crucial for our continued impact.

All members will be asked to sign the Code of Conduct later this club year, and we rely on all members to model the Code itself, enthusiastically sign it, and engage with any training opportunities (while encouraging others to do the same!).

Code of Conduct Presentation

Board Director Peggy Gentile-VanMeter shared a presentation at the Leadership Roundtable entitled “Living the Code: Understanding and Upholding SIA’s Member and Leader Code of Conduct.” Due to popular demand, we are now sharing links to the recording of this session in each language. Please share with your fellow members to expand understanding of the Member and Leader Code of Conduct. Training for members regarding the code and governance processes will be coming in the next few months, followed by the signing period.
