SIA 49th Biennial Convention Recap
What an unforgettable few days in Incheon, South Korea, for the 49th Biennial Convention! From July 22 to 25, 2026, Soroptimists from across the federation came together at the INSPIRE Entertainment Resort to connect, learn and celebrate our impact. Here are some of the highlights!
Wednesday, July 22
Convention officially began with a warm welcome to Soroptimists arriving in Incheon! Attendees had the opportunity to get settled and connect with fellow members.
The afternoon featured Korean cultural experiences, including traditional music and dance, the classic Korean game Yut Nori and hands-on crafts such as bojagi, maedeup and fan painting.
The day concluded with the Opening Friendship General Session and Reception, bringing Soroptimists together from across the federation to celebrate the start of an exciting four days.
Thursday, July 23
Thursday brought a full day of connection and Soroptimist business. Delegates gathered for the General Business Meeting, where they took part in important federation business and helped shape the future of Soroptimist.
After an energizing session with keynote speaker Libby Gill, the day ended with region events, Club Giving Reception, Inner Circle Reception and the Laurel Society event, “Moonlight and Magnolia”.
Friday, July 24
After walking with the president, Friday was all about celebrating our impact and the volunteers who give their time, energy and passion to improving the lives of women and girls. Attendees learned about our Big Goal progress, incredible Dream Programs, and their capacity to change lives from a 2026 Live Your Dream Awards federation recipient.
Attendees continued learning through a variety of workshops while connecting with members from around the federation, including sessions that unveiled the new SIA Membership Campaign: Driven by Dreams.
The day ended with the Presidents’ Ball, a memorable evening of celebration, connection and friendship.
Saturday, July 25
The final day of convention celebrated everything we have accomplished together and offered an opportunity to look toward the future. From meaningful workshops to cultural experiences, federation business to unforgettable moments with friends old and new, the convention reminded us of the strength of our global community.
Attendees gathered for the Closing General Session and reflected on the past four days with keynote speaker Marisa Chearavanont delivering an inspiring message about continuing to move the Soroptimist mission forward.
The celebration continued with the Fiesta en Blanco Reception, where it was announced that the 50th Biennial SIA Convention will be in Cancun, Mexico, July 26-29, 2028! We hope everyone returned home feeling inspired, energized and ready to put what they learned into action.
