In the Driver's Seat Award

For the member who recruits the largest number of new members each biennium.

Regions and clubs who hit their goals in either biennium are eligible for a drawing for $1,000 to use for membership recruitment and retention efforts.

Soroptimists who recruit any new members receive a 15% discount to the SIA store, and those who recruit more than two new members during the campaign will be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift card to the SIA store.

Strategies

Win back strategy

This is all about winning back members who have lapsed and preventing them from leaving by providing a meaningful experience.

Work with leadership to address civility concerns and conflicts.
Make sure your club is flexible and realistic about participation.
Address affordability concerns if dues are an issue—consider a “sunshine fund” to assist members facing financial strain.
Keep the focus on the mission with club projects and efforts to avoid mission disconnect.

Member-get-a-member strategy

There’s nothing like personal recruitment and connection to grow your club!

Share in person and on social media about all the incredible work your club is doing and what you love about being a Soroptimist.
Wear your Soroptimist swag out and about to spark conversation.
Don’t be shy—just ask someone to attend a meeting if you think they’d be a great member!

General new member recruitment

Help charter a new club in your region.
Recruit mission-driven members—look at other nonprofits in your area, colleges, or community events and see if you can table and share information.
Get potential members involved in service projects so that they can see the impact they can contribute to!
