Meet the SIA 49th Biennial Convention Committee Chairs!

Convention Chair: Ohran Choe

Ohran Choe, a member of SI/Daegu (Korea Region), has extensive experience in all areas of Soroptimist. She served on the SIA Board of Directors from 2018 to 2020 and led a breakout session on Soroptimist education and training for more than 140 Korean participants at the 2018 SIA Biennial Convention in Yokohama. She has also served on the SIA Electoral Area Task Force and SIA Fundraising Council.

At the region and club level, Ohran has held numerous leadership roles including region governor, governor-elect, fundraising chair, membership chair and club president.

She has participated in seven SIA and SI conventions—Honolulu (2012), Vancouver (2014), Istanbul (2015), Orlando (2016), Yokohama (2018), Kuala Lumpur (2019), and Bellevue (2024)—bringing valuable experience, a global perspective and a strong understanding of member engagement to her work on the Incheon convention.

Ohran’s service has been recognized with multiple honors, including SIA Certificates of Outstanding Service and Appreciation, first place in Big Goal membership recruitment, the Shaping the Future Outstanding Award for the Korea Region, and outstanding region chair awards for fundraising and membership.


Convention Co-Chair: Jungmi Lim 

Jungmi Lim is a dedicated member of SI/Newdaejeon (Korea Region) with extensive leadership experience at the club, region and federation levels. She served on the SIA Board of Directors from 2021 to 2024 and previously served as Korea Region chair from 2018 to 2020.

Her region leadership roles also include governor-elect (2016–2018), vice chair (2014–2016) and membership chair (2010–2012).

At the club level, Jungmi was the founding president of SI/Newdaejeon and led the chartering of the club in 2004, establishing a strong foundation for Soroptimist service and leadership in the community.


Contents Chair: Eun Ju Seong  

Eun Ju Seong has been a member of Soroptimist since 2011 and brings extensive experience in membership growth and leadership development. She currently serves as 2024–2026 Korea Region Membership Chair, where she supports clubs in strengthening engagement and expanding Soroptimist’s reach.

At the club level, Eun Ju is the president of SI/Apgujeong, which she chartered in 2015. Under her leadership, the club received the Best Club Award and Top Membership Growth Award at the Korea Region conference. Through a focused membership expansion campaign, the club welcomed 37 new members—growing to a total of 40—by reengaging former members and encouraging current members to introduce new prospective members, including daughters and colleagues.

June has held numerous region leadership roles, including fundraising chair (2020–2022), membership chair (2018–2020), program chair (2012–2014; 2016–2018), and public awareness chair (2014–2016). As fundraising chair, she helped the region earn first place in SIA’s Celebrating Success in Fundraising through innovative social media marketplace initiatives.


Sponsorship Chair: Ho Jung Lee


Ho Jung Lee has been empowering women and girls through Soroptimist since 2014 and has served as president of SI/Samsung (Korea Region). Her leadership experience also includes serving as Celebrating Success chair for Korea Region from 2020 to 2022 and as region public awareness chair from 2018 to 2020.


Hospitality Chair: Hyunyi Kim 

Hyunyi Kim has been a member of the SI/Daegu (Korea Region) since 2012. She has held several leadership roles, including International Friendship Chair from 2018 to 2020, 2020 to 2022, and again beginning in 2024. From 2022 to 2024, she served as Soroptimists Celebrating Success Chair.

Hyunyi earned both her master’s and doctoral degrees in philosophy and education from Columbia University in New York. She taught as an adjunct instructor at Daegu University, Daegu Catholic University and Keimyung University from 2001 to 2006 and later served as director of Columbia Academy from 2012 to 2020. With her academic expertise and dedication to building international connections, Hyunyi brings a wealth of knowledge, cultural insight and leadership experience to her work with SIA.


General Sessions Chair: Yeonsoo Nahm 

Yeonsoo Nahm has been a trailblazer for Soroptimist since founding SI/Newseoul (Korea Region), where she became the youngest founding president in the region. She currently serves as the Korea Region Communication Chair and participated in the 2023 Soroptimist International Convention in Dublin, further strengthening her global perspective and engagement within the organization.

Professionally, Yeonsoo is the executive director of a Swiss technology foundation. Her career includes senior leadership roles as a chief financial officer and executive at high-growth technology companies, as well as a decade as an investment banker with Citigroup in Hong Kong. She also brings experience as a board member and strategic advisor, with extensive experience in corporate strategy, capital markets and global operations. 


Marketing Chair: Young Eun Chang

Young Eun Chang has been a member of Soroptimist since 2018 and currently serves as president of SI/Hanyang (Korea Region). Her leadership within the organization includes serving as 2022-2024 Korea Region Public Awareness Chair and as marketing chair for the planned 47th SIA Biennial Convention in Seoul, which was later canceled due to COVID-19. She also participated in the 2018 SIA Biennial Convention in Yokohama.

Young Eun studied abroad for a decade in Ethiopia, the Philippines and Denmark before completing her degree as a French language major at Ewha Womans University. She has also dedicated 18 years to volunteer service at the Kumnamu Ma Eul orphanage, reflecting a long-standing commitment to community service.
