Soroptimists UpliftHER: Keep the Momentum Going in 2025-2026!

It’s hard to believe the club year—and the first full year of Soroptimists UpliftHER— is almost over! We’ve loved seeing your inspiring projects increasing access to education and tackling obstacles for women and girls.

Good news: the quarterly focus areas will remain the same for the 2025–2026 club year.

About Soroptimists UpliftHER

As a reminder, each quarter spotlights a specific obstacle that women and girls face on their path to formal education and economic empowerment. SIA Headquarters will share information about each obstacle, along with suggested projects that align with our Big Goal. Clubs can participate by sharing SIA posts and showcasing their own efforts using the hashtag #SoroptimistsUpliftHER.

Quarterly Focus Areas and Sample Projects

October: Intimate Partner Violence

·       Partner with a local shelter to provide professional dress clothing for women who have experienced violence and provide training on interview basics, resume writing and career advancement. Report it as a Big Goal Accelerator Project.

 January: Trafficking

·       Provide a scholarship for women who have experienced trafficking and, if appropriate, offer a career or college mentoring program. Report it as a Big Goal Accelerator Project (or Live Your Dream Award if your club’s recipient is a trafficking survivor).

March: Single Parenting

·       Offer financial assistance for childcare to single moms pursuing education or training programs—it can make a huge difference. Report if your club provides these grants to single mothers.

May: Period Poverty

·       Host a drive and get hands-on while creating period kits to donate to local agencies serving foster girls, shelters or low-income schools. Don’t forget to report it to SIA!

Other Ways to Get Involved

Participation in Soroptimists UpliftHER is voluntary, but we hope you’ll be inspired to join in and make an impact!

·       Share SIA’s posts about each quarterly focus on your club’s social media.

·       Showcase your club’s projects using the hashtag #SoroptimistsUpliftHER.

·       Take action by participating in a suggested quarterly project—and be sure to report it to SIA!
