What is the Laurel Society? How do I join?
The Laurel Society is SIA’s prestigious recognition program for donors who contribute gifts totaling $1,000 or more. It’s our way of celebrating donors whose generosity has made a transformative impact.
To reach the first level of the Laurel Society, Attaché, your cumulative giving needs to reach $1,000. You continue to gain levels of recognition as your lifetime giving increases. Click here to donate online.
What are the Laurel Society levels?
There are eight levels of recognition in the Laurel Society, and you reach new levels as your lifetime giving increases. You receive a pin with a different gemstone for each level to recognize your generosity.

How do I increase my Laurel Society level?
Every gift you make to Soroptimist International of the Americas, including one-time gifts and monthly gifts, counts towards your Laurel Society recognition level.
You also receive credit when:
Anyone donates in your honor (including family, friends, or a club or region)
You raise funds for SIA through a peer-to-peer fundraiser
Your employer matches your gift
A few types of donations do not count toward your Laurel Society level, such as:
Founders Pennies and Club Giving contributions
Donations to the SI Foundation
If you make a tribute gift and choose to give the Laurel Society credit to the honoree
Gifts of goods
How do I receive an invitation to the Laurel Society event at convention?
When a Laurel Society member gives $500 or more over the course of two years (biennium) they are invited to the exclusive Laurel Society Event at SIA’s Biennial Convention. Contact SIA if you need help confirming your invitation status.
What are the benefits of being in the Laurel Society?
Becoming a member of the Laurel Society has a number of benefits. First and foremost, you know that you are supporting our global Dream Programs and making an impact on the lives of women and girls! Additionally, Laurel Society members receive a beautiful recognition pin, along with other perks such as receiving an invitation to the biennial Laurel Society event!
What’s the difference between the Laurel Society and Stargazers?
The Laurel Society honors individuals’ lifetime generosity, while Stargazers is the name of our monthly giving program that recognizes donors who set up a recurring gift. If you give monthly and have given more than $1,000 in total, you are a part of both!
Monthly giving is a great way to earn credit toward joining the Laurel Society. A monthly gift of $84 would allow you to reach Attaché in one year.
