Tips for a Successful Walk for Women Fundraiser
The key to fundraising success if simple—ASK! Ask your family, coworkers and friends. Tell them why Soroptimist’s mission is important to you and how their support makes a difference.
Commit to a goal
Setting a goal is an important first step and key to a successful fundraising campaign.
Make it fun!
Think of friendly challenges to inspire support. For example:
Set a personal walking goal—like 50 miles in a month—and ask friends and family to pledge donations for every mile you complete.
Challenge another club to a bit of friendly competition to see who can raise the most funds by a certain date!
Promise to match donations up to $100 to your fundraiser.
Lead by example
After setting up your fundraising page… make the first gift! It gets the ball rolling and people like to see you’re supporting your own cause.
Don’t be afraid to ask
Ask your friends, family, and co-workers for support. It turns out, most of them are more than willing to help. Think of it this way: every time you ask, you are giving your network the opportunity to empower women and girls!
Share your progress
Keep sending messages and sharing the link to your page with your network on social media or email and keep them up to date on your progress. You can even ask them to share your page/posts too!
Spread the word
Using email, social media, or simply picking up the phone will help spread the word about your Walk for Women fundraiser. Need some inspiration? Check out our templates for ready-made, customizable social media posts and flyers.
PRO TIP: Create a QR code linked to your fundraiser, carry it on a sign when you walk, and make it easy for people to scan and donate when they see you in action!
